Following this session, participants will have new insights into Academic user search behaviors, as well as gain an understanding of how this knowledge can be used to not only fine-tune relevancy and interface design, but also to provide users with guiding recommendations within the user experience that proactively improve their research outcomes.
Abstract
Data-informed design is key to meeting users’ expectations. This session explores how data mining of discovery service usage logs and analysis of user behaviors at individual libraries and at Web-scale, across hundreds of libraries and millions of users, provides new insights and opportunities to proactively improve the Academic research experience.
