Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 1:30 PM–3:00 PM CDT
Metropolitan
Workshop Description

The ongoing emphasis on straight allies in the workplace has brought tremendous culture change. But when it comes to developing and engaging cisgender allies for people who are trans, there’s still work to be done. We’ll discuss the different kinds of challenges that exist for people who are straight and LGB to becoming trans allies, identify research to make the case for expanded support, learn some of the core competencies of trans allies, brainstorm – and receive – specific kinds workplace-focused behaviors that boost trans inclusion in organizational culture, and find out how to effectively express yourself as a trans ally to open new learning opportunities in your organization. All participants will also receive free copies of the guide to being a trans ally.
