Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 3:30 PM–5:00 PM CDT
Coronado CD
Workshop Description

Millennials are often considered to be the most open & accepting generation of LGBTQs, yet a 2014 HRC study found that only 7% of LGBTQ 18-24 year-olds are out in the workplace.

This workshop will explore the findings from HRC’s study as well as Reaching Out’s data from its work with LGBTQ business students to understand what the underlying issues preventing LGBTQ millennials, including specific gender and ethnicity segments of the generation, from coming out. The group will then give an overview of strategies used by companies including Deloitte & Wells Fargo both in terms attract out LGBTQ millennial talent, but then get them to stay out and become the next generation’s LGBTQ leaders
