Winning Nondiscrimination Protections for LGBT Americans

Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM–3:30 PM CDT
Coronado B (smaller room)
Workshop Description

Currently there are no federal laws that protect LGBT Americans from discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations. More than half of the states lack those protections for LGBT Americans. However, 60% of Fortune 500 companies have inclusive nondiscrimination policies in place and business support has become a key factor in winning nondiscrimination protections and defending against more than 100 overly broad religious exemptions aimed at LGBT Americans in the last year. Join leaders from Freedom for All Americans, the national bi-partisan campaign solely focused on securing nondiscrimination protections for LGBT Americans, and business leaders for a briefing on the nondiscrimination landscape and an interactive panel discussion focused on identifying strategies to deepen business engagement in nondiscrimination campaigns.
