
Currently there are no federal laws that protect LGBT Americans from discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations. More than half of the states lack those protections for LGBT Americans. However, 60% of Fortune 500 companies have inclusive nondiscrimination policies in place and business support has become a key factor in winning nondiscrimination protections and defending against more than 100 overly broad religious exemptions aimed at LGBT Americans in the last year.
