Valuing, Engaging and Serving LGBT Older Adults as Clients and Staff
Workshop Description
The percentage of the U.S. population over 65 is expected to double by 2030. Today, 9 million LGBT people make up 3.5% of the U.S. population. Three million are over 55, and that number is expected to rise to six million by 2030. A focus on the LGBT individual as both mature worker and savvy consumer is an investment that is a win-win for business – increasing productivity and job satisfaction and harnessing a critical share of the consumer market. Layering real examples on top of new research, this session will highlight concrete action steps for leveraging the power of your LGBT mature workers and providing sought-after products and services to LGBT older adults.
