The inability to perform natural activities such as walking, talking or seeing presents a great psychic and emotional and financial challenge. In short, disabled individual must still prepare and plan for a life in retirement. Using the 2008 National Longitudinal Survey of youth, this study examines the impact of disability on an individual’s decision to calculate retirement income needs, use tax advantaged accounts, and save for retirement.
