8. Emerging Technologies & Trends

Learning Objectives

To deepen understanding of how students learn with streaming video and how faculty teach with streaming video.

To increase awareness of why students and faculty consume types of information (streaming video and text)

To assist librarians in making collection development decisions about streaming video

Abstract

How do students and faculty determine when to watch a video versus when to read textual information?  Drawing upon primary research conducted in 2015 and 2016, this presentation uncovers new relationships between what students and faculty are looking for to support their research and learning both inside and outside of the classroom.
