S33-03 - So You Want to Teach Coding Workshops? 10 Things You Need to Know

Monday, April 4, 2016 at 4:50 PM–5:05 PM CDT
Room 105
Conference Track

8. Emerging Technologies & Trends

Learning Objectives

Following this session, participants will be able to start preparation for teaching coding workshops to non-coders and coders alike and they will have resources that will show them how to teach these workshops on a little to non-existent budget.

Abstract

A Systems Librarian and a System Admin got together to teach programming for the non-programmer in the library. Learn about the challenges we faced: how we prepared, what worked, what didn't, and what would we change? Walk away with the resources to plan your own.

* This short talk is part of session "S33 - Coding & Data"
