Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 10:15 AM–10:30 AM CDT
Room 301
Conference Track

4. External Relationships

Learning Objectives

Following this session, participants will be able to indentify ways they can provide information to donors who fund library electronic resources to ensure that the donors feel appreciated and are thus more likely to continue to fund resources currently funded if not  increase their spend to include other resources.

Following this session, participants will be able to think of ways that they can pass information on to donors that will be valued and will be able to get a sense of what to share and what not to share with donors.

Abstract

The McIntyre Library of the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire benefits greatly from the philanthropic arm of a local company and this relationship has allowed the library to subscribe to  resources it could not otherwise afford.  This short talk will cover how librarians have endeavored to keep the donor happy.
