Conference Track

2. Collection Development & Assessment

Learning Objectives

Have a different perspective about analyzing usage statistics, Have a better understanding on how to analyze niche collections

Abstract

All data is imperfect. In this presentation, we shift the focus from data critique to data modeling, presenting a time-series of analysis of selected resources. Using decomposition and exponential smoothing to look at usage trends, we highlight simple modeling techniques which can be tested and then applied in collection management.
