Contextualize turnaway statistics with data from other sources to better understand the activities that trigger denials, Recognize when and how to follow up with a vendor or publisher to raise questions about patterns and outliers in access denial statistics.

Abstract

Access denial reports may influence your collection development decisions, but are they always a true indication of your patrons’ interests? Our examples will demonstrate the range of activities and situations that can trigger turnaway data, and we’ll tell you “What to ask before you buy!”
