Learning Objectives

Understand the opportunities for shaping the discovery exprerience for users as well as the limits in doing so, Grapple with the strategic challenges in providing an excellent discovery experience from multiple perspectives, and Build a discovery and access strategy for their library or organization that is evidence based and engaged with new and emerging opportunities. 

Abstract

Leading libraries, publishers, and vendors regularly study the practices and needs of academics and students, in order to serve them better. In this session, experienced researchers will examine today’s search behaviors, emerging discovery forms, and access challenges, reviewing strategies for improving discovery and access that result from this research.
