Learning Objectives

Following this session, participants will be able to:

Understand basic copyright and how it affects work in libraries

Locate tools to assist in navigating copyright issues

Understand copyright issues as they relate to case law 

What you can do to promote "copyright-friendly" initiatives at your Library

Abstract

Learn about copyright basics, the latest developments in copyright and its impact on library collections, and how copyright can help promote and expand library services.  

For those familiar with copyright, this workshop will serve as a copyright refresher course. This session will also be useful for those who do not engage with copyright issues on a daily basis, and would like to know more.
