Abstract

Drawing upon multi-modal qualitative methods including weekly classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, participatory observations and reflective journals, this study aims to examine how mainstream classroom teachers at an urban public school develop agency and empower their students through culturally and linguistically responsive teaching, and how such practices impact the learners.
