*Preparing ELLs to Face the Linguistic Challenges of Science and Math
Abstract
In this presentation for ELL teachers, literacy coaches and secondary science/math teachers, presenters will share strategies for explicitly teaching content area reading for ELLs. Sample lessons addressing science texts and math word problems will be shared to demonstrate how to design lessons that scaffold students’ disciplinary reading and writing development.
