Session Abstract
Chinese and Arabic ELL's struggle in university mathematics courses due to linguistic incompetence confounded by cultural miscues. With few cognates to either L1, mathematical contexts are obscure, and students cannot follow lectures, participate in discussions, or join study groups. Could these two cohorts benefit from in- class cooperation?
