
Bilingualism is a complex multi-dimensional construct beyond English language proficiency. In this presentation, I will share recent research on how bilingualism shapes young children’s fundamental language learning processes and subsequent academic outcomes. Furthermore, I will demonstrate other ways to measure bilingualism in addition to English proficiency.

Gigi Luk is currently Associate Professor at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She studied developmental and learning outcomes of bilingualism across the lifespan using behavioral and neuroimaging methods.
