F17: Shared Print Archive Network (SPAN): Where are we now?

viernes, el 13 de mayo de 2016 a las 14:00–14:45 PDT
Westminster 3
Session Description

As SPAN enters its fourth phase, we reflect on what shared print archiving has meant for Western Canada's academic consortium (COPPUL), what has been accomplished to date and the potential of the program moving forward. Balancing mandates of shelf clearing and preservation, SPAN has archived print journals, government documents and monographs. While other Canadian consortia like CAUL and LAC are considering how to start similar projects, and others like OCUL are talking shared remote storage, COPPUL is well positioned to lead North American archiving efforts. What does the future hold for this important project? Come find out.
