Moving Beyond Academic Culture Shock: International Students and Academic Barriers
Abstract
Acclimating to an American educational system cannot be measured by TOEFL scores alone. The need to adjust quickly becomes a major stress for most international students and involves many factors. Theory and best practices on how to help students overcome academic culture shock resulting in academic barriers will be discussed.
