Abstract
ELLs consisently underperform their monolingual peers on all tests, showing deficits in vocabulary, language complexity and narrative skills. Use of oral language development program D4L with low English proficiency ELLs resulted in significant improvements in all aspects of narratives and vocabulary, matching skills of their high language proficiency peers.
