Lateral Leadership: Your Pathway to Meaningful Career Progression
Session Type
Thinking (Concurrent Session): 60-75 minutes
Session Description
Many CE units have a flat organizational structure, causing entry and mid-level professionals to feel stuck in their careers, even while enjoying the work they do. In this interactive session, attendees will develop a plan to become a leader in their units despite formal opportunities to advance. Participants will learn to consider the management perspective of unit and institutional goals, identify gaps in their own emotional and social intelligence competencies, and learn steps to increase personal resilience. Participants will leave the session with a customized leadership action plan.
