Session Description

Higher education is facing historic changes that include external pressures and internal process controls and scrutiny. Leadership at all levels of the institution must be ready to effectively address these challenges. This presentation discusses the theory of authentic leadership and proposes a professional development model to prepare current and future authentic leaders within continuing higher education.

Dr. Bonnie J. Covelli serves as director of the school of professional studies at the University of St. Francis (USF) in Joliet, Ill., and as program chair for the MS training and development program. She serves on the board for ACHE Great Lakes and the Illinois Council on Continuing Higher Education (ICCHE).
