Session Description
This session will share the results of a two-year effort to improve a continuing education unit at Brigham Young University by developing a SCORECARD (business term) using ANALYTICS (to help analyze the big data associated with the evening, summer, and extended campus programs at the BYU Salt Lake Cengter), RATIOS (to explain relationships and establish baselines), and METRICS (to capture and represent important data points used to inform management decisions). Some of the improvements include more enrollments, stronger bottom line, better space utilization, and improved student service.

Brief Bio
Dr. Howell is the Director of BYU Salt Lake Center (a department within the Division of Continuing Education) and the former Director of other continuing education units at Brigham Young University including evening classes, bachelor of general studies (BGS), and Center for Instructional Design (CID). He is the author/editor of three books on online assessment and measurement and over 75 journal articles covering topics of applied learning and administration in continuing education, including distance learning trends, online testing, and adjunct faculty issues. He is an evaluator for the Northwest Commission of Colleges and Universities and serves on the editorial boards of multiple journals.

Dr. Glines is the Dean of BYU's Division of Continuing Education. He previously served as an associate dean of the Division and as the Director of the BYU Salt Lake Center.
