Abstract
Professional ethics (ASCA, ACA) encourage counselors to develop working with LGBTQ students, who often encounter oppressive school environments and a lack of counselor support. Often, we do not know what we do not know. This interactive workshop will cover LGBTQ student needs and voices, terminology, personal attitudes, sexual identity development, “Coming Out” as well as provide counselor responses. Latest issues “in the news” will be discussed.
