Abstract

Is your school experiencing an increase in students who engage in cutting, eraser burning, scaring or other self-harming behaviors? Research shows that 14% to 24% of adolescents (ages 14-22) engage in non-suicidal self-harming injury (NSSI). Recent findings show 8% of children (ages 7 to 16) have participated in NSSI behaviors. Presenters will share their experiences, provide research based interventions and offer strategies for responding to students of all ages who engage in NSSI
