It is time to review the schedule for the placement of your session in the AAACE Agenda. This is the final draft of the Schedule. When you look up your name, use the detail listing to check what days/times you asked to be placed. This is a huge program and we can accommodate necessary changes in day and time now, but may not be able to do so after September 1, 2013 except in emergencies. Please carefully check your placement and send any requests to Ginger Phillips, AAACE Conference Planner with AAACE Session Change Request in the subject line. Reaching the Stopped Out Student, Reconnecting Them Through Degree Completion Programs and Getting Them Graduated

Session Abstract

Description of CSU efforts to develop several consortia based online degree completion programs for students who have stopped out as juniors or seniors at any of our 23 campuses.

Target Audience

Presentation describes a multiple campus, collaboratively delivered, online suite of Baccalaureate programs targeting stopped out students from across the system. The presentation is relevant to institutions seeking to reconnect with stopped out students, programs and departments focused on retention of high risk student communities and those seeking to leverage technology, data and analytics to address the needs of the reconnecting student. The presentation focuses on techniques for identifying and contacting stopped out students, coaching them through the application process and getting them ready for a strong start. The session discusses student services, supports and intervention points during the program.

Learning Outcomes

Cal State Reconnect degree completion programs maximize services, capacities and scalability from contributing campuses and Cal State Online. This presentation describes the working consortia model that is being developed. The program's design and results (working models, partnerships, shared services, approach to data and analytics and synergy systems) can help other institutions who would like to develop similar partnerships. The presentation also details techniques for identifying and contacting stopped out students, coaching them through the application process and getting them ready for a strong program start that maximizes the chance of retention to graduation.

The presentation focuses on techniques for identifying and contacting stopped out students, coaching them through the application process and getting them ready for a strong program start. The session discusses student services, supports and intervention points during the program as well as best practices for curriculum and student supports to encourage class to class retention and graduation.

Efforts are made to try to schedule sessions on the day preferred by the Primary Presenter, though this cannot be guaranteed. Please check your preference.
