Session Abstract
Duckworth’s (2016) Grit model – which attributes student success to factors such as persistence, perseverance, and effort – has recently been applied to online learning settings. We present a critique of Duckworth’s model, relatively absent in the adult education literature, and explore alternative approaches to conceptualizing success in online learning.
