Program Summary/Abstract Description
Guided reading is the heart of a balanced literacy program. Planning guided reading time right from the start is crucial for language acquisition. In a small group setting, students start by building up oral language development, phonological and phonemic awareness in order to become independent readers. During this session, you will learn how to develop guided reading groups for you dual language immersion setting, providing teachers with instructional practices that promote language learning and reading comprehension through differentiated literacy instruction.
