Program Summary

After explaining the benefits of using immigrant memoirs in the classroom, the presentation will draw from data from teacher education classes to explain what teacher education students have gained from reading and discussing immigrant memoirs. The session will conclude with pedagogical strategies to use immigrant memoirs in ESOL teacher education.
