Program Summary

Drawing on sociocultural and multilingual turn in second language teacher education (SLTE), I argue that community engagement through sociolinguistic ethnography become a crucial component in SLTE programs. After providing the details of such a project, Linguistic Treasures of Delmarva, I discuss the lived experiences of pre-service teachers as linguistic ethnographers.
