Program Summary
This paper describes a collaborative research-based approach to developing a course for preparing pre-service teachers to work in culturally and linguistically diverse classrooms. The findings point to the coexistence of expertise and uncertainty among teachers with respect to their own effectiveness at meeting the needs of English language learners.
