What does adult education mean in Iran and Saudi Arabia will be discussed in this session? In this session, the similarities and differences will be discussed in two major countries in the Middle East.
This session is suitable for educators who are interested to learn more about the concept of adult education in developing countries. Especially those who are looking forward to work with organizations such as UNESCO and UNICEF. The most important theme of this presentation in culture.
Learners would learn that adult education has a different meaning in different cultures and countries. It is important for educators to consider cultural differences when they are developing a program in another country. Those who are interested in knowing more about how adult education has been formed in the Middle East in two different countries would benefit from this session.
This session will be focused on the definition of adult education in Iran and Saudi Arabia and how it is developed through time. A brief history of adult education and literacy will be an introduction to how different adult education agencies have been created in these countries. This session will cover each agency, their vision, mission and goals and focusing on differences and similarities between them.
Globalization is one of the most important concepts that have been developed in the past 10 years more than ever. Learning about another county’s expectations from the field of adult education, in addition, to know the history of adult education would be helpful to move one step further in being globally competence in this field.
