Session Abstract

Learn about LGBTQIAA+ community, how YOU can be a source of support and the Do’s and Don’t. Join us in a safe space learning environment and become an ALLY!

Target Audience

Those who want to learn more about LQBTQIAA+ community and how to foster trust and inclusivity in your classroom, workplace, or learning environment.

Learning Outcomes

Learners will be able to understand the terminology of the LGBTQIA+ community, the steps it takes to be a source of support or an ALLY, and some common do's and don'ts.

Session Description

This workshop aims to educate participants on the terminology of the LGBTQIAA+ community, including the differences between sexual orientation and gender identity, to alleviate biases through cultural competency to better serve the individuals of the LGBTQIAA+ community. 

Format & Technique

The session will start with an interactive activity, followed by a presentation of the terms, and discussion surrounding support and the do's and don'ts of working with the LGBTQIAA+ community.
