Session Abstract
This highly interactive workshop will focus on helping ELs with writing. We have adapted the ACES model for constructed responses to support ELs of various WIDA ELD levels. Our goal is the gradual release of teacher responsibility. Aligned with CCSS, we will share teaching strategies and samples of student work.

Cathy Fox is an ESL Model Teacher at Veterans Memorial Elementary School, Central Falls, RI. She is trained as WIDA LADDER Coach, and in SIOP.

Biographical Statement
Margaret Schembre has 32 years experience as an ESL-certified special educator and six years as RtI coordinator. She is currently an adjunct professor at RIC.
