Learning Objectives

understand ADA Section 508 basics in relation to e-resource acquitions, evaluate third party interfaces using free (WAVE) and proprietary tools (Compliance Sheriff), and adjust current acquisitions workflow to incorporate accessibility compliance requirements (VPATs and licensing language).

Abstract

This panel will provide an overview of web accessibility standards and common compliance issues, review how the accessibility initiative has altered our e-resource workflows, and discuss the challenges of successfully evaluating resources.
