What my HBCU Taught Me About Diversity Recruitment

Monday, April 20, 2020 at 3:15 PM–4:30 PM EDT
Allegheny B (75)
Session Description

Diversity, access, and inclusion initiatives have become prevalent at many institutions in recent years. However, there is a sector of higher education that has specialized in underrepresented groups from inception: Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This session will offer a glimpse into the workings of an HBCU admissions office and how lessons learned here can help impact recruiting underrepresented students at PWIs and other institutions. Reflections from former PWI and HBCU admissions counselors will be shared.
