Session Description
99% of the time, college and school counselors guide appreciative students and families through the college process. However, some of us may one day encounter the 1%; angry, demanding, unreasonable, and occasionally litigious families. Working on the assumption that the best defense is a good offense, this session will spotlight some outrageous, yet true, ‘tales from the crypt’ and will provide suggestions for proactive steps by the college office, how to establish institutional support, the importance of documentation, and potential responses to our most challenging families.
