Session Abstract

Webinars are an effective way to reach out to the community with relevant issues, especially during a pandemic. A Health Studies program conducted a series of webinars with faculty and other experts presenting issues related to COVID-19, on topics addressing communication, ethical challenges, resilience, and operating a virtual healthcare organization.

Session Description

A webinar is an effective, cost-efficient way to provide outreach to the community. A Health Studies graduate program conducted four monthly free hour-long webinars on topics related to COVID-19 in the areas of combatting COVID misinformation, ethical challenges facing healthcare leadership, creating a culture of resilience, and operating a virtual healthcare organization. The presentations were conducted by faculty and other subject matter experts. This session will discuss the advantages of webinars when trying to provide outreach to the community to promote health, wellness and communication. It will also provide suggestions on how to effectively plan webinars to optimize attendance and achieve positive outcomes.
