Session Description
This session will demonstrate 'The Living Lecture' and is labeled the same as the title of a new book of mine just off the press in 2020 and copyrighted in 2021. While it is impossible to include everything from the 413 page book in this session, some of the major important, impactful and timeliness aspects of the book are included in this session. This is because the ideas are very timely, impactful and important in the current research, practice and service of the field of adult education - not only in the past, but presently and what looks like will be well into the future. The session begins with participants being asked to form four 'listening groups' to the lecture that will be given - listening for things they want clarified, they disagree with, want elaborated on, and considerations for practical application. Next, the six minute lecture is on andragogy's assumptions, processes, and major themes. Then, groups get together and decide the question(s) the want addressed. Following, each group's spokesperson asks their question and gets the lecturer's response in turn until all question's are addressed. A wrap-up is conducted by the total group with verbal reflections on pertinent learnings.
