Session Abstract

The paper explores the conditions that influence the implementation and use of digital media within the training of health and nursing professionals. For this purpose, results of a research project are presented, which examines digital media with qualitative and quantitative methods from a cultural, sociological and structural perspective.

Session Description

In the health and care sector, high hopes are currently being placed in digitalization. In the light of demographic changes more people to be cared for. At the same time, the number of health and nursing professionals is falling. The area of vocational ecations acts as an interface here: digital skills can be acquired during the period of vocational education and training so that they are available within the scope of a professional activity.
The “Digital Medical Care” collaborative project examines conditions for the use of digital media in the training of health and nursing professionals. The research question is: What conditions promote the implementation and use of digital applications in educational institutions in the health and care sector to promote digital skills? The results are to be prepared in the form of design criteria and success conditions for the successful introduction and use of digital applications in training in the health and care sector. The presentation outlines the initial conditions and the current status of digitization in Germany in general and in the field of vocational training.
