Abstract

The information community is transitioning from the world of journal subscriptions to the new economy of Open Access (OA) articles. The infrastructure, standards, and practices that have been honed over decades no longer fit our work today. We need to work together to create new best practices to support interoperability for new requirements and workflows across organizations; libraries, publishers, and intermediaries. NISO's new working group, "Operationalizing Open Access Business Processes" is analyzing gaps and definining new protocols; this session will describe its progress.
