Program Summary
Using applied conversation analysis, this study examines mentor positive feedback in post-observation meetings. We describe how mentor feedback can be linked to explanations about what a novice teacher did well, thus providing the teacher with an example of how to engage in reflection. Implications for mentoring practice are discussed.
