Program Summary

Drawing on analysis of interview and focus group data from a bilingual teacher education program, this presentation addresses ideological tensions and challenges faced by teacher candidates trained in translanguaging pedagogy. We highlight implications for designing teacher preparation coursework that focuses on skills for navigating and countering raciolinguistic ideologies in practice.
