Program Summary

This paper examines how professional vision theory can inform language teacher education in the age of translanguaging. Using findings from a study of middle school ESL teachers’ adaptation of translanguaging, we suggest a framework to help teacher candidates make sense of students’ languaging practices and leverage them toward instructional objectives.
