Abstract

Research data storage and management is a growing concern for university libraries and other research institutions. This presentation will provide an overview of the approach taken by Southern Cross University's inter-departmental team, with a focus on:

Economical storage solutions for short and long-term research data storage needs.
Identifying sensitive or private research data to ensure security and privacy concerns are mitigated.
Compliance with federal and state legislation, regulations and best practices.
Recognising when research data includes Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property (ICIP) and considerations are needed for sharing and storage.
Planning for long-term data ownership, storage and access.
Using Esploro for publishing and integrations to improve discoverability of research data.
