Abstract
Research data storage and management is a growing concern for university libraries and other research institutions. This presentation will provide an overview of the approach taken by Southern Cross University's inter-departmental team, with a focus on:
- Economical storage solutions for short and long-term research data storage needs.
- Identifying sensitive or private research data to ensure security and privacy concerns are mitigated.
- Compliance with federal and state legislation, regulations and best practices.
- Recognising when research data includes Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property (ICIP) and considerations are needed for sharing and storage.
- Planning for long-term data ownership, storage and access.
- Using Esploro for publishing and integrations to improve discoverability of research data.
