Presentation will examine questions of control, autonomy, and professional identity that ELL teachers encounter working in the mainstream classroom. Advantages to mainstreaming for both ELL teachers and their students will be explored. Includes recommendations to address questions of autonomy and professional identity for ELL teachers teaching in the mainstream classroom.
