Abstract

Usability testing of LibGuides is an effective tool for illuminating problems and helping librarians create engaging, user-centered content. This talk details an in-progress, iterative usability study of LibGuides. The presenter, an Emerging Technologies Librarian, will describe the study, findings, establishment of best practices, and techniques for communicating with internal stakeholders.

 

Learning Objectives

- Attendees will identify the basic steps for creating a usability test
- Attendees will explore best practices and design guidelines for LibGuides based on usability test results
- Attendees will describe ways to communicate with internal stakeholders, such as other library staff and LibGuide content creators, about usability testing and to share results
