Monday, March 17, 2014 at 4:00 PM–4:45 PM CDT
Room 105
Conference Track

2. Collection Development & Assessment

measurement and metrics, value analysis

Learning Objectives

Understand the importance of monitoring, measuring and benchmarking usage to evaluate impact; recognise how evaluation has informed library and repository collection management decisions and processes and policy; recognise the benefits of employing collaborative approaches to national service developments by involving repository managers, librarians and publishers in that process

In the UK, national shared usage statistics services such as JUSP and IRUS-UK provide economies of scale. They save institutions time and money to focus on data analysis and quality. This paper will outline how organisations are using JUSP and IRUS-UK to measure value and impact of valuable resources.
